The Loughborough Alumni China is a non-profit cooperative association voluntarily organized and managed by a group of alumni from Loughborough University, UK. The group is based in China but connects overseas. The association aims to continue alumni members’ UK study experience and connection with Loughborough University post-graduation. It is also committed to providing alumni members with social, career and entrepreneurship-related resources, collaboration, and empowerment. We believe this allows one to help others while improving oneself, creating harmony and friendships, learning and striving together for success.
Services of the Alumni Association include
(1) Managing online alumni social groups, news portals and websites, as well as a directory database of alumni members
(2) Hosting in-person social events for alumni members to cultivate new friendships and deepen understanding between members
(3) Showcasing alumni’s academic and career achievements, experiences and life stories, while maintaining communication between the officials of Loughborough University in the UK and the alumni members
(4) Organising workshops for career development and entrepreneurship startups, in the hope of empowering alumni members with relevant networks, resources and training support.
(5) Creating more internship opportunities for current students or graduates, whist promoting cooperation and connection between enterprises and Loughborough University for research and business development.
(6) Providing an online marketplace that enables and promote alumni’s professional services or products as part of alumni networks.
Currently, the Loughborough University China Alumni has about 2,000 registered alumni in total; it has established alumni support communities in multiple regions in China and overseas, as well as in individual professional fields, including (in no particular order):
