I was delighted to meet several Loughborough alumni at the Overseas Returnees Startup Congress in Shenzhen. I gained a lot of valuable experience hearing about their entrepreneurial ideas and pasts operating a startup business.
Thanks to the alumni Yuanjie (Lewis) Li, founder of Yingqi Technology (英氣科技), who represented the Loughborough Alumni China in the alumni entrepreneurship achievement roadshow during the event. Our roadshow booth was very popular and Lewis also engaged many potential business opportunities.
In order to assist the entrepreneurial alumni, I have just established the “Friends of Loughborough Alumni Entrepreneurship Group” on WeChat, which aims to:
(1) Establish a platform for alumni who are interested in or are starting a business to connect with each other, as well as connect to relevant investors and organizations that support entrepreneurship.
(2) Arrange interviews, write articles, publicize alumni’s career development, and to guide and connect members with further roadshow opportunities and investors.
(3) Assist the entrepreneurial alumni to develop a customer sector of overseas returnees while exploring opportunities to expand overseas business in Hong Kong.
Finally, I would like to thank the government of Shenzhen city, as well as the associated associations and employees who made the arrangements for this great conference!
