The Mid-Autumn Festival party was a great success, thanks to the collaborative efforts of alumni leaders from various overseas university alumni groups based in Shenzhen. We created a memorable event for 300 alumni attendees.

As part of the steering team, I worked on the Materials Team, primarily handling the design and production of posters, venue settings, and sign-in accessories.

A key takeaway from this experience is the critical importance of well-designed and produced promotional posters before embarking on any large-scale event. Posters act as the centerpiece of event coordination, defining and showcasing the theme, style, layout, and enrollment contacts. Without them, event planning and publicity efforts would be significantly hindered. This underscores the value of designers and the need to acknowledge their contributions.

I was fortunate to connect with Loughborough University alumnus Xingzhou Zhao (Nero) earlier this year. Nero generously offered his design expertise for all posters, backdrops, tickets, wristbands, and hand signboards for the Mid-Autumn Festival party. With his bachelor’s degree in design from New York and a master’s degree from Loughborough University, Nero’s designs seamlessly blend Chinese and Western aesthetics. His dedicated service and quick turnaround time were instrumental in helping us organize the alumni party within a tight three-week timeframe.

Nero has established his own design studio, DOT DESIGN, in Suzhou. I wholeheartedly recommend his design services. Feel free to reach out to Nero to discuss potential collaborations and exchange ideas.
