About Us

The Loughborough Alumni group in Hong Kong was established since 1962. During the early days, the Alumni members were mainly graduates from Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering faculties. Today, there are about 60 active members on our members list, and the year of graduation of members ranged from 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s to the latest, year 2000-2005.

During past 40 years, the Alumni has been keeping a tradition of monthly dinner gathering with members in Hong Kong. Members all enjoyed a good time in playing Mahjongs and outdoor activities with old friends or classmates, tasting of good wine and fine food with old and new graduates alike. Moreover, we value the opportunity of exchange of views over hot social issues and sharing information of industries over the dinner table. Indeed, this is the most important thing in Alumni gatherings since we learnt a great deal from each other. Like most people in Hong Kong, the Alumni experienced bad and good days of Hong Kong.

Happily, 40 years has passed, most senior alumni members have successful achievement in their careers or business, and a few of them are happily retired or semi-retired. But, it seems we all have strong feeling and sense of attachment towards Loughborough University, a peaceful and nice place where we finished our tertiary education. The Alumni takes upon as its on-going duty to maintain and extend these good tradition and relationship among old graduates and the new generation.
