It’s worth remembering that the aims of establishing the alumni association are as follows:
- To foster an alumni community. Each alumni should feel that they have company and the ability to find like-minded alumni for developing their careers and private lives with peers.
- To consolidate resources for the alumni communities, cooperate and communicate with the overseas alumni groups, and maintain the social ecology and popularity of the groups, so that alumni can make good use of alumni networks and resources available to them.
- To emphasise that teaching and learning is mutually beneficial – empowering alums adds value to all involved as can be seen in the testimonials shared throughout the year in the group.
Indeed, I thank all alumni friends for their support, in going above and beyond these aims this year. In 2024, we organized many gatherings in various regions and deepened our mutual connections! I know that next year will be even bigger and better. In the meantime, I wish you all a happy New Year with friends and family!
